Associate Engineering Designer jobs in San Diego CA Full Time

We are seeking an Associate Engineering Designer to join a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team in our Public Works Division in San Diego, CA. Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare civil engineering plans including grading, drainage, transportation, and public improvement designs.
  • Perform earthwork calculations, take-offs, and quantity assessments.
  • Support project managers and senior engineers with technical studies and design documentation.
  • Ensure designs comply with local codes, standards, and jurisdictional requirements.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, timely project results.
  • Mentor and support junior team members as needed.

Qualifications:

  • BSCE (or equivalent) with 2 years of civil engineering experience (or 6 years equivalent work experience in land development/public works design).
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D required.
  • Coursework or experience in transportation/highway engineering, hydrology, hydraulics, and surveying is desired.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with a good driving record.
